Rochdale Adult care offers a range of placements that can support students practise experience. Placements are structured and well organised in collaboration with University partners and our workforce development teams. Rochdale adult care can provide access to case management systems (ALLIS), a robust induction for all students which includes shadowing your own and other teams as well as access to our in house training and provides opportunity for multi-agency working. Rochdale adult care offers placements to all our GM universities.
Within Rochdale we have 5 integrated neighbourhood teams, we have a mixture of social workers, district nurses and occupational therapists within the teams. The teams hold cases that include hospital discharge, older adults, physical disability, transitions, learning disability, autism and mental health, we hold safeguarding cases and take part in a duty rota.
Rochdale adult care support’s our NQSW’s through there ASYE year, holding regular NQSW forums as well as social work forums and additional training. Rochdale adult care focuses on progression of our social workers, once completing their ASYE year and having 2 years’ experience Rochdale supports social workers through their grade 8 progression and then encourages their social workers to gain their practice educator, BIA and/ or AMHP qualifications.
Rochdale Council Children’s Services offers placements to all our GM universities and offers Step Up to Social Work placements, Frontline Student Units and Social Work Apprenticeships.
Rochdale Council progression enables students to apply for social work roles during their final placement. Those who are successful will complete the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) during their first year and will then access career development opportunities.
