Stockport Council offers a range of placements that can support students practise experience. Placements are structured well organised in collaboration with university partners and our workforce development teams. Stockport Council can provide access to case management systems, robust induction for all students and provides opportunity for multi-agency working.
Stockport Council offers placements to all our GM universities. Stockport Children’s service offer placement to Step up and frontline and Apprenticeships and Stockport Adults Social Care support placement for the Social Work Apprenticeships.
Stockport Council is invested in supporting social work progression and provides a robust Assessed Year in Support Employment (ASYE) for all new starters in social work. Where newly qualified Social Workers are nurtured in their social work role, receive additional support and mentoring and have access to regular learning and development workshops and training.
